Co-Founders


David Felberg
CHATTER Co-Founder and Music Director David Felberg is a native of Albuquerque. He was the Associate Concertmaster of the now-defunct New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. He is also Concertmaster of the Santa Fe Symphony. David performs throughout the southwest as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, including the following ensembles: The Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, Noisy Neighbors, Taos Chamber Music Group, Santa Fe New Music, Serenata of Santa Fe, and the Los Alamos Coffee Concerts. David’s operatic conducting debut was with The Emerald City Opera’s 2003 production of The Magic Flute. He is also the music director of the Albuquerque Philharmonic and Co-Artistic Director of the Chatter 20-21, Chatter Cabaret and Chatter Sunday in Albuquerque. David made his New York City recital debut in June 2005 at Merkin Hall.

Eric Walters

CHATTER Co-Founder and Music Director Eric Walters is a native of Albuquerque. He holds music degrees from the University of New Mexico and Indiana University. Eric has been a featured composer at the University of New Mexico’s Composers Symposium and with The New Southwest Orchestra, a composer in residence with the Santa Fe Opera’s Student Produced Opera Program, and has presented recitals of his chamber compositions in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. He has also written a commissioned work for the Albuquerque Youth Symphony. A dedicated teacher, Eric is Orchestra Director at Rio Rancho High School and an arranger for the Hey Mozart! New Mexico youth composition program. He is a tenured cellist of the Santa Fe Symphony.
